The Proposal
This image, titled “The Proposal”, was taken near Brookings. I had asked the couple if I could take their picture and they said “yes”. He had just proposed to her, so I did some shots and sent the pics to them. It was a wonderful day, and I took advantage of capturing “their moment”.

“Kelp”
Photograph by Jim Ingraham
This image, titled “Kelp” was taken from Citizens Dock Rd. in the harbor at Crescent City, Ca. It was a bright and sunny day and the winds were calm. The kelp was sitting near the surface and I could see the seafloor as well as clouds reflecting in the water. The color of the water was a beautiful blue green. I thought it would make for a compelling image.
Taken with a Nikon D810 and Tokina 24-70 mm lens at 40mm. ISO 125, Shutter speed of 1/125 and aperture of F8
Congratulations! Jim on a beautiful image. Look for Jim’s image to be featured soon in the Daily Courier.
“General Store”
Photograph by Dale George
Dale writes about this image:
“General Store” was taken in Central Oregon at Fort Rock after sunset. It is a 3 image HDR combined in Photomatix, tone mapped, and some other tweaks before converting it to black and white in Silver Efex Pro 2.
The nuts and bolts….average exposure time .5 seconds, f/6.3 using my old Canon 5DMKIII and 24-70mm lens.

Grosvenor’s Arch Trails
Photograph by Larry Pollock
Larry writes about this image:
Grosvenor Arch is approximately 30 miles east of Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. It is in a remote area accessed by a dirt road.
I love shooting in the extremes of light. This image required taking the foreground image just after dark in the blue hour. The stars were captured over a 75 minute period and 305 images just after the first image.
Shot on a Fuji X-T3
Foreground: 1.3sec at f/9, 16mm, ISO 200
Stars: 10sec, f/2.8, 16mm, ISO 10,000
