PNW, Late Spring Rain
Photograph by Ozzie Cummins
I had been exploring some of the fire burned area from last summer’s Klondike Fire. It was raining all morning with fog and low clouds obscuring most of the high country.
I was following a logging road near Silver Creek, west of Chrome Ridge. I drove down a steep ridge heading west. Suddenly, the sun partially broke through, lighting up the tips of the limbs of Douglas fir and the newly recovered (from fire) ferns in some areas of the scene. It was classic PNW in full bloom!
It was shot with my Nikon d750, 28-300mm lens. Focal length of 56 mm, F8, 1/500 sec at ISO 100.
I began photography about the time I joined the Caveman Camera Club in 2009. I’ve enjoyed photography, camaraderie with other club members, and 4x4ing ever since. They all go together so nicely.

Rail Road

This Image was made this September on a beautiful night near Mt. Shasta while waiting for the Milky Way to grace the sky above the mountain. This was the last train just as the sun was beginning to set and the stars came out. It was shot handheld with an Olympus EM1 MarkII, f4.0, 1/60 sec., at 80mm.

Parliament At Night
By Dave Church
Dave writes about his image: “This photo of the Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest was taken on a recent cruise of the Danube River. It was taken from our boat, that was docked just across the river from this beautifully lit building. It was very impressive from our vantage point, and I’m glad I was able to get some great photo captures. Shot was taken with a Canon 6d, 24-70mm lens, 1/80 sec., f5.6, ISO 16,000. I have enjoyed being a member of the Caveman Camera Club since 2009.”

At The Ballet
By Judy Cox

“This photo was taken on a Caveman Camera Club field trip to the dress rehearsal of the Heartland Dance Studio production of “The Wizard of Oz” in 2018. I took the photo with a Sony a6000 mirrorless camera with an 18mm-200mm lens. I shot the photo at 73mm, f/5.6; 1/250. ISO was 3200. I love the challenge of shooting ballet, because I took ballet lessons when I was a little girl and have always found the dance, costumes, and lighting very appealing. I became a member of the Caveman Camera Club about three years ago and I’m grateful for the advice, mentoring, and friendship of the members”.
