Rudy writes about his image: The image was taken in Nevada at The Valley of Fire State Park. The early morning light really helps bring out the unusual colors of the rock formations. The image was shot using a Canon 5D camera with a 24mm lens.

We will meet at the Church at 7pm for an evening of exploration in lighting and portraits. Bring your cameras and tripods and try out three different lighting scenarios – three lights, one light and natural light. You can shoot, pose if you like, ask questions and investigate these lighting schemes and how they can improve your portrait skills. Larry Pollock and Jim Ingraham, both professionals with loads of lighting experience will take us through an evening that should prove to be ‘enlightening’. See you on the 16th!
Susan writes about this image: I shot this recently at a friend’s farm in Northern California. I got inside the chicken coop with the chickens as the sun was going down with my camera and a smile. Shot with an Olympus EM1Mklll.
